Y3/4 Information Evening
A number of parents were unable to attend on the night, so here is a summary of the areas discussed. If you would like any more information about any of these items then please speak to your child's class teacher, who will be happy to help you.
- The class teachers were introduced and each teacher explained their own roles and responsibilities
- We talked about ideas for encouraging good learning from the children in our classes
- We went through homework routines and explained what homework in Lower KS2 would involve
- Current curriculum topics were explained (please note that long term curriculum maps are available on this web site in the "Information" section)
- We discussed the year's school trips and a visit from a "Living History" group
- Mrs Loftus talked about challenging children at the right level and explained what is meant by "maths mastery"
- We talked about "Reading through the Rainbow", class readers, guided reading and strategies to support children who may need extra input
- We looked at ways information could be shared with parents and encouraged parents to download the Class Dojo App in order to keep up to date with new information
- We explained that Classroom Monitor reports to parents would help them better understand their children's current targets
Thank you to all parents who supported us at the meeting, which was a very positive event.
