Y2 Bushcraft

Class: Year 1 and 2 Year: 2020 - 2021

Yesterday the children in Year 2 experienced ‘bush craft’. After a quick warm up game they collected natural materials from the field and forest area to make some art in small groups. This was followed by a ‘mindfulness session’ where the children took time to think about what they could hear and feel in the environment. One child said he felt ‘calm and relaxed’, another said they felt ‘warm and happy inside’. Finally, the children were shown how to make a small campfire and Glen the instructor gave them all a marshmallow to toast. The class had a great time and really enjoyed each activity.
